KITCHEN CORNER

Hi my name is Nancy. I am the Kitchen Supervisor here at Dutton Child Care. I work with the Elgin-St.Thomas Health Unit to provide safe, well-balanced meals for our children and staff. We are a "NUT" free centre, so it is our policy that NO food be brought in to our centre for allergy reasons.

I offer a 6 week Spring & Summer menu rotation, which runs from May thru to October and a 6 week Fall & Winter menu rotation which runs from November thru to April. Meal times are as follows:

For the children on later pick-up times we also offer crackers and water to help hold them over until supper can be served at home.

Water is always available in our classrooms!

In our registration package there is a checklist of foods. We ask that your child(ren) try these foods twice before their first day of care. Generally, if they are going to have a sensitivity to a food you would see some type of reaction by then.

Once your child(ren) have tried the food twice just check it off the list or let us know and we will check it off. If table foods are just being introduced check off what you can and let us know ASAP once they've tried something else, so we can keep an accurate list.
